New look and feel to the Blog

Every company needs a "logo" as a recognition of thier business. And so I have changed the layout , format , colours and have used one of my own photo's as the base for my logo. The picture is titled" A time to reflect". I thought it both fitting in view and name as a solid base for Robert Schaetzle Photography. " A Time To reflect" is one of the views I can see on a changing basis, as it from the backyard of where I have been residing since 2008. In the coming months you will see dramatic changes to the style and content of the photographs I will be posting. Sorry , no hints! You'll just have to visit by often to see.

It's snowing

Our first " real storm " this winter. These guys barrel down the road doing about 80kph. Blowing snow a good 50ft or more.

Red Fox

I had just a split second to take this shot from a vehicle doing 100kph. This is the first red fox I have seen in the kawartha region. At night I hear the coyotes yapping away. Hopefully I will spot some in the next little while.

Bancroft ont.

If you've ever driven through the town of Bancroft you would have noticed the sheer cliffs on the east side of the hwy. At the very highest point is called "The Eagles Nest". It is a lookout vantage point in which you can view the counrtyside as far away as Algonquin Park. Unfortunately the road to the top is not plowed during the winter and a walk up would have taken more than an hour. Not to mention there are no fences to catch you should you slip and fall off.

Hastings Highlands

Winter is again upon us and what better area to visit during the cold months than The Bancroft region and surrounding areas of the Hastings Highlands. Just in and around Baptiste is one of my favourite spots to view deer year round.
